Biography
Ravy Puth ពុទ រ៉ាវី is an illustrator of Cambodian origin, first-generation Canadian and raised in Montreal. Having learned French in kindergarten and then English at the age of eight, she watched her mother tongue, Khmer, gradually crumble. Drawing emerged as a reference point and a language in its own right, capable of taking over where words failed. Today, illustration serves as an essential tool to counter erasure, by gathering forgotten stories and reinserting them into collective memory and imagination. Ravy Puth wears two hats. As an illustrator, she specializes in visual communication, editorial, comics, popular science, and murals. As an independent researcher, she specializes in illustration and erasure, publishing articles and offering training and workshops on the dissenting power of visual culture.
